On the first week of class my professor said, “the weekly quizzes on the books we read are bonus points and are not for a grade.”

Today my professor said, “the weekly quizzes are bonus points that can help or hurt you. If you don’t do them, they detract from your final grade.”

I raised my hand and said “so you mean like a grade.”
